Big news is the girls only have one more thing to pass before they can come home. Both girls are scheduled for a sleep study tomorrow afternoon that will last until Tuesday, July 22nd at 8 a.m. The sleep study basically assesses whether the girls' heart rhythms, breathing patterns, and reflux are stable enough to go home. If they pass, they could go home Tuesday, July 22nd in the afternoon.
We are cautiously optimistic and very, very hopeful that BOTH girls will be able to come home at the SAME time. Lily is doing slightly better than Lola in regards to heart rhythms etc. and Lola has some fairly decent reflux that causes her heart rhythms to be off at times (common in preemies). So, it is possible that only one of the girls will pass and one will have to stay on in the NICU.
We respectfully ask that no one visits or calls the NICU until the sleep study has been completed as they girls need minimal stimulation during this time.
We should know the study results sometime after noon on Tuesday, July 22nd.
Miss Lily weighed in at 5 lbs. 2 oz. today and Miss Lola at 5 lbs. 4. 5 oz.
We are so thankful again for all the wonderful care we have all received (Lily, Lola, Mom and Dad) at the NICU. Please continue to pray for healthy babies. Thanks to all of you!
Love, Mel
