More Fun Pictures

Just a few more cute pictures to share with everyone... Lily is the one on the couch, asleep, with the belly hanging out, doing her Britany Spears imitation. Lola is the one on the Boppy pillow, sideways, as is her customary position these days. The pink bathrobes were a gift from the girls' cousins, Todd and Lindsey. Aren't they cute? The top picture shows a rare moment where both girls are sleeping and quiet in my arms. They usually squirm so much that it is hard to hold them simultaneously.

Lily and Lola Turn Three Months Old!

Well our sweetie pies turned three months old today. I would say it is hard to believe, however, it is hard to remember our lives before them. Both girls are doing well. Lily and Lola both continue to smile, although Lily has to be really dazzled to share hers with you. Both girls are starting to make some sounds at us and at the ceiling beams (their favorite toy). Still practicing head control every chance they get. Not much new to report overall I guess except one very exciting development for Mom and Dad: they have slept for 5 straight hours at night! They don't do it consistently yet, but almost always go at least 4 hrs. now at night. The first night it happened, Don said the man that looked at him in the mirror suddenly looked a lot younger. Don is terrific with the girls and they certainly love him. It is super sweet to watch. Hope everyone has a terrific week!

Firsts and New Finds

Well this week has been a week of a few firsts. Lily and Lola had their first experiences with their swings. They weren't very sure at first, but warmed up after awhile. It was a success 2 out of 3 trials (therapist in me looks at all things in summary feedback). Lily is making some "ah" and "aye" sounds. Lola laughed (really more of a giggle) while sleeping in my arms last night for the first time. Lola will also now stick out her tongue when Don does. It is really cute.

Lily has become mesmerized with her first baby, which is more of some sort of glowing seahorse (pictured above) and is sometimes reaching for objects too.

Top picture shows girls after a busy evening of studying our ceiling beams. They LOVE to watch them and strain their necks to find the beams when out of view. Bottom picture is what I woke up to this a.m. What can I say? Super cute.

Happy Birthday to my sister Sarah who has been such a support to me over the past few years! We love you Sarah!

Losing Hair and Yoga Pants

Well, it seems Lola and I both are losing hair. However, mine is also turning gray. It is funny, I noticed my first gray hair the day after the girls were born. This was the first glimpse I had of myself post C-section, with more than one gray hair. Kind of a changing of the guard, huh? Lola is the bottom picture with her bald spots. She had tons of blonde hair at birth, but it is now falling out and I am pretty sure she will be a "baldie" before long. My hair loss is not as noticeable :) Top picture is Lily in her first pair of yoga pants. She is gaining weight quicker than Lola and is fitting into pants a bit better.

Question

Hey everyone! Looking for positioning and or ideas for tummy time/floor time that will minimize reflux. Lola is still fighting reflux and I want to get her in the floor to play/practice her tummy time skills, but we end up with reflux issues getting in our way some. I am wanting to keep as much formula in them, of course, to help their weight gain and don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul if you understand where I am going.
We always keep them up for at least 10 minutes after feeding. With Lola, if I am going to put her in the floor, I usually wait until she has been up 30 minutes past feeding. However, then we run into the sleep mode and then tummy time is so very effective.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Our pediatrician does not want us to start cereal just yet, and I understand from several that assists with reflux. Not sure the girls could handle the consistency from an oral motor standpoint just yet.
Also, trying to feed both at the exact same time from Boppy pillow or chair every feeding now and switched to slow flow nipple to cut back on frantic feeding. They did okay with faster nipple when we fed them individually because I could pace them, but with both there was lots of scary gasping... However, I am finding that Lola will not always stick with the same amount of volume taken from the slow nipple. I don't know if she gets tired because of more effort... Any thoughts there especially to you STs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch.
