Gracie after 1st day of VBS
Playing in the babies' roomHaving a great summer, filled with lots of firsts. First foods, first 4th, first library card, first birthday party.
Lily is standing great and taking a few steps here and there. Prefers to crawl still and particularly loves to sing. She sings loud and proud, all the time. Says mama, papa, hi and we think Gracie. Loves pot roast and pears and peaches. Loves big sister Gracie and everything she does. Waves hi/good-bye.
Lola is standing super great also and also taking a few steps. Still prefers to crawl, but is getting where she likes to cruise too. Has started to be more like she was the first 6 months of life, wanting to be held/loved on and rocked to sleep. Says mama, hi and shakes her head (and sometimes her whole body) "no". Waves good-bye/hi. She is apparently practicing to be a vegetarian, as loves carrots, green beans and fruits. Not a fan of meat and will NOT eat pot roast, thank you very much.
Both babies have told me firmly, with conviction, that this week will NOT be the week that bottle weaning will take place. Really not in that big of a hurry, just gave it a try and was met with major screaming and throwing of sippy cups filled with milk. Gracie and I actually thought it was pretty funny.
Gracie is doing great. Very smart cookie, we all think. Understands the majority of all things said to her and uses primarily English in speaking to us-except for a few Spanish words here and there. Loves to sing, dance, swim, and the splash pad. Loves books, Chinese food, pudding and "FRITAS!!!" and family pizza night. Continues to be a very active, outgoing, physical playing child. Had a great time at VBS. Entertains all of Reasor's/Target when I grocery shop by telling everyone "Hi". She puts a smile on everyone's face and that is fun to see. New favorite movie is Dr. Dolittle (Rex Harrison version).
It is harder and harder to keep blogging because the babies are so active and we are going all the time. But I hope you enjoy the pics and the update and will try to do so throughout the summer.
Love, Mel
